Assistant Manager, Digital Content Creator

Headquartered in Toronto, the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) is responsible for investing $35 billion in federal funding in new infrastructure projects. The CIB’s mission is to work with provincial, territorial, municipal, federal, Indigenous and private sector investor partners to transform the way infrastructure is planned, financed and delivered in Canada.

The Assistant Manager, Digital Content Production will be responsible for developing a suite of communications materials for CIB’s website and social media platforms to serve existing and expanding to new audiences. The Assistant Manager will ensure consistency of tone and voice, within editorial and brand-style guidelines. Familiarity with emerging technology, editing software, analytic tools and knowledge of current trends and innovations in digital media is required.

This role requires a strong ability to summarise complex concepts, ideas or projects into engaging content that meets the highest quality standards and captures attention. The Assistant Manager will report into a senior member of the Communications and Public Affairs team.

Strong oral and written communications skills in both English and French are mandatory as this role will be responsible for publishing and maximizing the impact of the CIB’s website and social media postings in both official languages. In addition, the Assistant Manager will advance and complete photo and video segments produced by outside firms to support the CIB communication initiatives.

Your responsibilities include

  • Develop content production strategies related to the CIB's activities and the impact of its investments.
  • Research, write, produce, edit and publish digital communications content (videos, photos, graphics, audiovisual scripts, articles, etc.) for all the CIB's digital platforms
  • Strategically promote the CIB’s content to our audience and increase its impact
  • Monitor online analytics and use information to adjust tactics as needed
  • Update social media accounts, assist in growing the CIB’s followers, interact with and engage stakeholders on social media
  • Research and acquisition of audiovisual equipment
  • Establish and manage a calendar for digital publications
  • Contract external production firms to produce communication products and multimedia events
  • Participate in the development of graphic guidelines and standards for publications on CIB’s digital platforms
  • Ensure compliance of all online content regarding the Official Languages Act
  • Perform other duties as needed and directed

The ideal profile

  • Bilingual French and English (written and oral) mandatory
  • Background in journalism, communications, marketing, graphic design, video production or commensurate experience
  • 8+ years communications experience
  • Experience in storytelling, content management systems, social media, graphics software, analytics, still and video cameras, video/audio/image editing, HTML
  • Knowledge of the banking industry, investment sector, infrastructure or government agencies is an asset
  • A resourceful team player who can operate independently and collaboratively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure within tight deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality of work
  • Flexibility to react with changing priorities
