Head, Project Development
François Lecavalier leads the Project Development team at Canada Infrastructure Bank that provides advisory services to public proponents of infrastructure projects, incubates new projects, builds and maintains a national inventory of new infrastructure projects, and works to create global best practices on developing new infrastructure.
Mr. Lecavalier has almost 30 years of experience leading infrastructure and private equity projects in Canada and Europe.
Most recently he was Senior Vice President at the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) where he fostered an integrated approach to the development of new products and services for entrepreneurs across Canada and managed BDC’s $600-million Cleantech Scale Up Initiative.
Prior to this, Mr. Lecavalier held the position of Vice President of SNC-Lavalin Capital and various positions at the London-based European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
His expertise includes origination and execution of corporate finance deals, portfolio management, business development and corporate governance.
He holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Studies from Trent University and sits on the board for Pearson College UWC.
