Broadband service is critical to the daily lives of Canadians. It is essential for our quality of life, connecting us to business, health care, education and to family and friends.

The CIB is collaborating with RFNow Ltd. and CVC DIF to accelerate the delivery of high-speed internet projects in underserved Saskatchewan communities, including five First Nations.

More than 2,774 kilometres of new fibre infrastructure, delivered by RFNow Ltd., will bring reliable broadband service to communities, helping residents access opportunities, services and connections that are critical to everyday life. For Canadians, broadband connectivity is essential to participating fully in the modern digital world.

Benefits of the CIB’s involvement

Due to the low population density and current lack of broadband infrastructure, the cost of connection per household is very high and not commercially viable. Our innovative solution with low financing rates will allow for project delivery at a quicker pace and lower cost to implement.
