Ottawa — The federal government appointed three people to the Canada Infrastructure Bank's Board of Directors.

Former Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Minister Sean Fraser announced the appointment of Janis Byrne, Elisabeth Hivon and Hari Subramaniam to the nine-member board. Governance | Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB)

Collectively, they bring their extensive experience in project development, risk management, law, sustainable investing, business administration, project finance, and public-private partnerships to the Board.

These appointments were made through the Government of Canada’s open, transparent, and merit-based selection process.

Jane Bird will continue to oversee the Board of Directors on an interim basis until a Chair is appointed by the Governor in Council. She has been a key member of the Board since her appointment in November 2017.

  • Janis Byrne recently joined Cox & Palmer, a leading Atlantic Canada based law firm, as Counsel. She previously held the position as Executive Vice President – Legal at Pennecon Limited. She Byrne has served on several boards and is an experienced director of non-profit and for-profit boards. She currently holds the positions of Director of Growler Energy Inc., Atlantic Lottery Corporation, Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation, and Canadian Manganese Company Inc.
  • Elisabeth Hivon is a respected and influential business leader in project development, project finance, and public-private partnerships. Over the last 15 years, she has focused on structuring and delivering complex and successful infrastructure projects in Canada, the USA, and Africa. She has served on several boards including the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP).
  • Hari Subramaniam is Executive Vice President at Constellation Software Inc. Prior to this, he held several senior roles as Chief Strategic Growth & Head of Global Business Development at Opus One Solutions, Chief Executive Officer at Jule (E Camion & Inspectech), and Vice President GE Global Growth & Operations Canada.
