Studying options to increase mobility in the regions

The Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is looking to further assess a fixed transportation link between the Island of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Our work will build on previous costing and revenue studies, including the 2004 and 2018 pre-feasibility studies, and involve additional capital and user analysis. We will also assess options for potential transaction structures, related financial analysis and identify additional planning, development and business case work required.

Benefits of CIB involvement

Large projects take years to plan and develop, and often require specialized expertise when considering innovative investment and delivery methods. The Memorandum of Understanding, we will expedite further capital and user assessment. We are aiming to complete the study by winter 2022.
